In an age of real-time information, brands and companies are more at risk than ever to viral attacks from unexpected sources that demand ever-faster responses. It is absolutely critical to understand how these situations are best managed through online channels to mitigate any reputational damage.

This session shows how to prepare for these kinds of attacks by using FireBell, a software application that simulates such crisis situations, including viral media attacks, across multiple social media platforms. FireBell creates an authentic scenario of being under attack on sites like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs and other social media channels by creating functional offline versions of a company’s social media properties, as well as outside presences such as \"anti-fan\" pages and critical blogs. Why this speaker?

Dr. Jan Dirk Kemming is Director Creative Planning Germany and Creative Director Continental Europe at Weber Shandwick. Since 2010 he also holds the position of Head of Digital in Germany. He is consulting cross-discipline and cross-practice clients like Carglass, Samsung or Deutsche Telekom as creative planner and digital expert. Jan Dirk joined the company in 2006 and has been building up methods, tools and instruments to keep Weber Shandwick’s strategy and creativity onto a top level. Earlier positions include Creative Director at Wunderman Germany and Division Manager Concept/Planning at BBDO's Bob Bomliz Group (Pleon).
