NEXT Berlin and its partner, Deutsche Telekom’s incubator hub:raum, were looking for the most promising European seed start-ups at NEXT 2013. The Winner was LineMetrics from Austria. The team impressed the jury with their idea that enables industrial companies to monitor individual machines or entire production lines, in real time. This leads in to an increase in production efficiency and a reduction in machine failures.
“LineMetrics convinced us, particularly with its coherent business model. It offers a clear customer focus and a successful combination of hardware and software elements,” said Peter Borchers. Peter, a jury member, is director of Deutsche Telekom’s incubator hub:raum, which organized the Start-up Pitch and Track at NEXT13. As winner of the competition, the two LineMetrics founders Reinhart Nowak (CEO) and Wolfgang Hafenscher (COO) received a prize package donated by hub:raum, SinnerSchrader, You Is Now and piâbo PR with a total value of 20,000 Euros. Plus a lot of media-attention, for example, in the outlets of our media partners Wirtschaftswoche, Internet World Business and Deutsche Start-ups.
Like in the years before entrepreneurs had the chance to apply for the pitch at NEXT13. Out of all the applicants the jury picked 12 finalists from the community’s Top 30. The finalists had the chance to present their visions and business models live on the stage at NEXT13.
