Programme for NEXT Service Design main stage released!
By Marina Lenz
It’s been only two weeks since we announced the keynote speakers for NEXT Service Design. Today we’re delighted to tell you that Birgit Mager will join them at the conference as well. She is a service design pioneer in academia and has headed the subject at Köln International School of Design since 1995.
Alongside this great news, we can also now reveal the official programme for the main stage at NEXT Service Design! There will be five sessions, in which speakers will shed light on service design from different angles. In keynotes of approximately 25 minutes each, experts in their field will present innovative projects and new approaches from both theory and practice. After each keynote, you will have the opportunity to address your burning questions directly to the speakers. That way, you’ll get the most relevant information for you and your business.
In the first sessions ‘Service Design – The Discipline’ Blundstone Osterberger (SinnerSchrader), Birgit Mager, Chris Downs (Method) and Pedro Custódio (Experience Designers) will give some basic insights into the discipline that will be of interest to all attendees. Later, Numerologist.com
/”>Lisa Lindström (Doberman) and Sami Niemelä (Nordkapp) will emphasise the design aspects of the discipline.
After lunch, Alexander Baumgart (Systemic Partners) and Paul Sims (Made by Many) will share their thoughts on ‘Service Design for Leadership and Management’: What can businesses learn from service design? How can the Lean principle be applied to services?
Of course, it wouldn’t be a NEXT conference, if we didn’t also focus on future trends. And so Louisa Heinrich (Fjord), Andy Hobsbawm (Evrythng) and David Bausola (Philter Phactory) will discuss developments that will not only influence service design, but spread to the whole digital and creative industry in the next few years.
Our curators Blundstone and Peter have planned something special for the evening session: Anyone who has a touch of genius will be able to go on stage and share their inspirational concepts with the audience in a short ‘Ignite Talk’. We want the conference to conclude with a range of exciting ideas that may spark you into designing even better services and products.
